“Hope along with Faith can be Reality”
The Site
This is The Monochromicon v3.0, released at March 2010. This is my personal site. It contains my blog entries; reviews of things I’ve seen, heard, or played; and many other stuffs.
Now why The Monochromicon name? It’s actually related to several things, -icon suffix is usually used to represent book/tome/lore in several fantasy stories, I intend to make this thing as my log book. The monochrome part is, my favourite colours, black and white as one word. And it’s also reflecting my usual intention to separate things into black and white category, although I’m categorizing more into gray nowadays. By black and white I mean the duality theory, bad and good, evil and holy, yin and yang, well you got the point…
And what’s with that weird cross? First of all, let me introduce you to the Rood Inverse, one of the important element in Squaresoft’s RPG titled Vagrant Story (one of the best in PlayStation, in my opinion). Vagrant Story inspired me in many way, from the Rood Inverse symbol, the names (Müllenkamp, Leá Monde, Valendia, Losstarot, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, etc.), to the short-but-deep story. The Rood Inverse is my appreciation to one of the most influencing game in my life.
The Author
The name is Nico, nice to meet you. I’m an engineer by training, a chemical engineer to be exact, but I have a lot of interests in many stuffs including web design. Originally from Indonesia, currently I’m in the USA pursuing further degree on chemical engineering. I’m an only son, a pretend brother for some, a knight for a certain someone, and a best friend for several persons.
My interests cover a lot of grounds, from game, music, technology; to animé, manga, movie, and books. My favourite thing to do on my spare time (not that I have that much nowadays) is playing video games. I enjoy wide range of games, with the first and foremost is J-RPG. For music I enjoy most of the easy-listening music and techno on some occasions. One particular thing, I like J-music very much, their instrument usage are fascinating to my preference.
