Heroes - Volume 3: Villains

—Review Score: 6/10—
Heroes, an NBC TV series, is back after the writer’s strike hit second season. The first season of Heroes was a blast, and thanks to the writer’s strike, season two was mediocre at best. Season three is split into two volumes, Volume 3: Villains and Volume 4: Fugitives. Volume 3 is over for this season and to sum it up, it’s disappointing.
The season premiere episode was promising, with a lot of actions. But afterwards, the series took a great amount of time to introduce complications and made a lot of characters changing sides. All of these aspects lead to a downward plunge of the series, as the series failed to explain most of the convolutions it made. The constant side change also made Villains’ story feels stretched.
Villains also lacks a proper closure to be called as a volume. It might be because of the 13 episodes (or chapters, as the producers refer to) length of the volume, but volume 2 did a better job on providing the sense of completion. Maybe all the explanations will be given on the final volume of the third season, Volume 4: Fugitives. But in the mean time, we can only wait.
All in all, this volume of Heroes is certainly not the best volume with convoluted storyline and lack of closure. However, if you follow the story of Heroes so far, and interested to keep following it, Villains is a must watch. For other viewers, this might not be a good start to watch Heroes.
