Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2 (Part 2)

—Review Score: 9/10—
The second part of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2 is finally over. While the first part focuses on introducing the new antagonists and complications of war, the second part focuses more on the other side of the war. And more importantly, the finale given is really satisfying.
After a series of strong law enforcement actions by A-Laws, the world finally unites in the second part of the season. However, there’s also a peace-seeking tendency among the people, especially with the strong-arm government currently reigning them. The second part of Season 2 mainly focuses on the peaceful solution and how people can understand each other better to eradicate war. Celestial Being is also shown to change conforming this new ideals.
The Gundam Meisters are more driven toward fulfilling the need to understand each other. There are also several background stories given on the characters. The character development also shown even better in these episodes, with a more clear-cut on which side some characters are. Still, there are some treacheries between the characters; but in the last few episodes, the protagonists and the antagonists are pretty much set.
Lots of praise need to be said on the last three episodes. Gundam series usually have a hard time to wrap the story into a good finale, as Season 1 show. But in this one, the last episodes are great in conveying the climax and tying up loose ends in the stories. So in the end, the viewers can be satisfied by the epilogue. It is also worth noting that the few episodes builds up tension so that they can put the viewers on the edge of their seats with curiosity to see what will happen in the next episode. The Gundam battle in the finale also adds a nostalgic touch on an action scene that is already great and emotional. The season finale really shows the clash between two different belief of the protagonist and the antagonist.
The animation quality, as usual, gets even better in time. And the additional technologies on the mechas (not only the Gundam) are also interesting to see, especially the GN-Sword III. The usage of old Gundam as backup unit also adds a sense of realism.
In conclusion, the final part of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2 is a great conclusion of a great animé series. It ties all the loose ends of the story and provides a good epilogue to the series. The action scenes are also great with two epic skirmishes and numerous mecha duels. It is a must see animé series, especially if you’re following Gundam 00 since the very beginning.
