tumblr

So here I am, introducing the tumblr-powered version of my blog. Just finished setting up and all. Now it’s up and running, and probably a bit of waiting for my domain name to clear up… Then I can use my custom domain as my tumblr address.

I’m a …, oh well, might as well not following the cliché

Ever since the introduction of aluminium MacBook in October 2008, I’ve been torn between that and VAIO Z Series for the notebook computer of my choice… And now, after a fair amount of contemplating and drooling over those two equally sexy piece of technology, I introduce you to the newest addition of my tech collection, the aluminium MacBook!

One of my concern about picking MacBook before is the 16:10 display aspect ratio still used by Apple. The VAIO is already adopts 16:9 display aspect ratio, which is exactly the same as any HDTV nowadays. But however, I did feel that smaller height in laptop screen would cost me more than the coolness factor I got from the extra widescreen. Other concern is the 5400 RPM hard drive. Somehow I feel 7200 RPM is the sweet spot right now for the notebook world, but then again the MacBook’s hard drive is user-replaceable. And if I should change it, I think my PlayStation 3 will be very happy to receive the hard drive transplantation. From those consideration, I arrive to the decision to buy the MacBook. After all, I got a free Windows XP SP2 from campus, so it’s a dual-boot capable MacBook that I have now… And with this I rest my rant, a happy rant that is. Yeah!

Driving to Heaven (No, Not the Tiësto’s Song)

Today is the final day of constant driving. Been driving almost everyday this past weekend, including two back-and-forth travel to Denver… Now I can tell that I quite enjoy driving in USA, and how I can understand why most Americans like to drive their own car.

It’s the interstate network.

Miles of miles of open road, waiting to be traversed by a car. And I happened to get a decent rental car, a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant. It’s not the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven, but it did well accompanying and protecting me throughout these four days. Now before I veer off to other topic, let’s go back to the interstate. It’s built for the convenience of American resident. It covers most of the USA, you can basically travel anywhere in the USA using the interstate network (save for Alaska and Hawaii), and best of all, it’s free (well, there are some toll ways if you want to be nitpicking). I just wish for one thing, make it like the Autobahn, where you can speed up to whatever you want (of course not in the potentially dangerous areas). Wishful thinking…

New Year’s Resolutions… Is It?

Here it is, the year 2009 is already here… And as a customary here, it’s new year’s resolutions time! Well, here’s the list.

  • Sony VAIO Z series (speechless)
  • Doing well on research (but of course, what else at this point?)
  • Holiday back home (I really miss home…)
  • Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII (c’mon Square-Enix!)
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (this too!)
  • Lightning GT (oh well, one can always dream can’t he?)

Wait, it looks more like a wish list than resolutions… Whatever, those are what I want this year (save for the Lightning GT, it’s just a dream lads).

Do any of you want to get me just one of these?
P.S.: If it’s the GT, much appreciated, hahaha…
